The Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre is looking to add a new way to care for their patients in the care centre who have been diagnosed with dementia. A multisensory room otherwise known as a Snoezelen room is gesture activated projection technology. The system beams customizable images, sounds, and music onto all surfaces. A multisensory room has been proven to be an amazing tool and has brought positive results when used properly, especially to those with dementia.

Ashley MacDonald the Health Services Manager of the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre spoke on how she see’s the impact of a Multisensory room can make, “As we are generally not equipped with items that would pique the interest of this particular clientele. I do strongly believe that we could provide such a comforting environment, more interaction, an opportunity for clients and families to find another way to share moments and communication that could be unforgettable.”

WE NEED YOUR HELP

This new technology is not inexpensive. The fundraising goal of this campaign to ultimately improve the quality of available care to all those at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre is $125,000.

We are currently asking for your financial support to improve the lives of the patients and their families by purchasing a multisensory room for the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre and consider a donation towards this campaign. If we do raise more than our goal or the cost of the equipment is less than our goal, any and all funds towards this campaign will be used to purchase other equipment needed for the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre.

Quality healthcare can mean many different things to many different people, but to us it means being able to have the best equipment available close to home so those that need it can stay close to family and their support system. The implementation of a Snoezelen (Multisensory) room will improve the daily life of those living in the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre, and their families.

If you have any questions about or would like to make a donation to this campaign please give us a call at our office at 306-778-3314.

We are open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
